The following are brief descriptions of some of the ministries  at Calvary.  If you are interested in more information about any of these ministries or would like to apply your gifts and talents to be a blessing to others through one of these teams, please contact us.

Sunday School
Each Sunday morning children and youth, ages six to sixteen, leave the service for a time of lessons, singing and activities. The 6and 7 year olds leave at approximately 10:15, and the 8 to 14 year olds leave after the sermon at approximately 10:45. The curriculum aims to teach more about God and how he relates with his people, helping the children in their daily walk to live for Jesus. Kingdom Kids are children 3 to 5 year old who gather for worship at 10:00 AM. Through praise, Bible stories, crafts, activities and games, the children learn about and grow in their relationships with God. 
 

GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour)
GEMS is a relationship-building club created for girls from grades four through eight. Games, crafts, camp outs, singing, badge work and Bible lessons are all planned to help the girls meet their Saviour. Social events and service projects round out the program.
 
Cadets
Cadets is a great club for boys from grades two through eight, offering merit badges, projects, sports, camping, hiking, Bible study and a place to meet new friends. The Cadets also engage in some service projects.
 
Youth Groups
High School youth meet weekly to grow in their faith and encourage each other to live Christian lives.  The group plans social outings throughout the year to have fun and strengthen their friendships.  The group participates in service nights to help out the community. Through Bible studies each member is encouraged to grow in their relationship with God.  Students from grades 9-12 meet on Thursday evenings at 7:30 at the church.  Please check the current week's bulletin for updates as meeting times and locations are flexible.

College and Careers                                                                                

Young adults 18 years and up gather for fellowship, fun and discussion at church. Currently the group is moving through the Alpha program by meeting every second Friday at 6:30 PM. for dinner, followed by a video presentation and discussion. All young adults are welcome! Please check the current week's bulletin for updates as times and locations are flexible. 

Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle, primarily for persons aged 55 plus, meets every third Tuesday from early September to mid May. Aside from those occasions when we have outdoor activities or a trip is taken, the meetings take place at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. It is hoped that the Friendship Circle provides an opportunity for older persons to fellowship with each other in a relaxed atmosphere.

Opportunities to Gather in Prayer...
 
Prayer Time
On the first Sunday of the month there is a time for prayer at 9:00am at the church. This prayer time is in particular for the preaching, teaching and "outreaching" ministries of Calvary.
 
Space for God
On the third Sunday of the month after the morning service there is time to pray together for more personal needs. Participants encourage each other in creating "Space for God" in their individual, daily lives.
 
Feel free to join us on a regular or occasional basis when you are able. Please contact Alice Proper at 445-3219 to confirm prayer times or share a prayer request. Prayer is not limited to those times above. Prayer can happen anywhere and needs may be shared at anytime with Alice or Pastor Piet at 247-9461.
